Ponytail

I have a vivid memory from the summer of 2013 where I was laying on the turf at Barwis Methods on my back and I told Jesse, my trainer, that I missed having a ponytail. I had cut my hair all off five years earlier on my 26th birthday.

I thought about this from the beginning of this pandemic and subsequent Florentine. Sean snapped this picture and I think I had not had my haircut for almost 2 months at that point:

I have since documented my hair growth during this:

So, check out my ponytail now:

I ordered ponytail holders from Target, some thing I haven’t done for 12 years but they arrived in yesterday and I put my hair in a ponytail for the first time in 12 years. I would have taken a picture then but my hair was dirty. I think it’s crazy that I have forgotten how to put a ponytail holder in my hair. Yesterday, it took me a few times to remember.

Christmas in July

The day before yesterday, my brother, Steve, asked me if I saw the movie Last Christmas because it was on Netflix. I just re-posted on Facebook the post I wrote last year after I saw the movie and after Sean’s Ring Day. (that post was one month late because it’s not good for me to book 2 things in one day) Anyway, so I saw it again yesterday because it’s named after my Christmas jam!

I watched it yesterday because it IS July and I have participated in my sister-in-law‘s “Christmas in July” festivities for her Paparazzi jewelry and I participated in a 31 “Christmas in July” party. I was okay with watching this movie because I have watched a few Hallmark Christmas movies this July as well.

I still dug this movie and I even cried but I don’t have a problem with that because I cry at a lot of movies even when I see them more than once!

#MyGirlL: She Stinks!

So, Leia is sick. She has been sick for a while now. She is having digestion problems and she messed in the house a few times! She has never gone potty in the house but for the past few days, we awaken to mess at the front door and at the back door.

This happens in the middle of the night and if she could, she would go outside but she can’t. This poor little girl can’t control it! She went to a different vet Thursday because she also threw up. She was given medicine which we are still giving her. Today, she had an appointment and her normal ver and she was given an x/ray to see if she swallowed something or had a blockage.

The x-ray didn’t show any blockages but she noticed a soft tissue mass at the top of her stomach. It may be her gallbladder. She ordered an ultrasound for next week.

I can’t believe that I have cried over a dog but I am so afraid for her! She is slowly getting better and is still eating bland food (ground sirloin and rice) and next week, we will work on re-introducing her dog food.

With all of this going on, she hasn’t had her two baths a week because she trembles during them. She is stressed out enough( so, consequently, she stinks! Please say a prayer for her, #MyGirlL.

Cucumber Mint Day 2

OK, so I do believe I have found my new chapstick for the Summer! I woke up this morning and my lips felt more moisturized than they ever have! As I applied the cucumber mint today, I had to twist the bottom up because I’ve been using it so much because I really love it!

I think it’s a family thing because my cousin, Ariel, commented on my last post that she likes this one too!

So, I added this picture here again so all the guys will know what my lips taste like if it is in the summer months! 😂😂😂

33 Years?

I searched for this cartoon awhile back because I remembered watching it fondly with my cousinTs:

And I thought of this one probably about a week ago:

So yesterday, this cartoon popped up in my YouTube feed:

I kind of got excited when this cartoon showed up and I vaguely remember it watching it when I was a kid. I laid on the green carpet in my Parents’ house back when there was still carpet there and my Dad was still alive. I’m excited for other cartoons to show up in my YouTube feed as well! Has it really been about 33 years? I’m so old!!!

Random Tune #54 in my YouTube Feed

I’ve been searching for two days in vain to find a picture of a poster I hung in all of my classrooms. That poster is somewhere in my basement now. It’s based on this song:

It wasn’t until this version of the song showed up in my YouTube feed today when I realized why I had that poster!

The poster I had was just an handmade poster in large font writing. It hung over all of my desks with my computer. It said:

“There is no failure here – just when you quit.”

I chose to just put a dash in because I did not know what I would call my kids and I didn’t really dig the, “Sweetheart” part and didn’t know that I would be comfortable having that posted on my wall. As it turns out, I ended up calling my kids, “Honey.” The video that showed up in my YouTube feed was the live version of the song and I have decided that I really do LOVE Bono!!!

Random Tune #52 in my YouTube Feed

This one showed up a couple days ago, it brought back a flood of memories for me feom my time at Western Michigan University. I can distinctly remember eating Wendy’s drive-through back when my metabolism could still handle that. As I sat in their parking lot eating it, I faced a Tatoo shop that my friend Tonya ended up getting her tattoo from and this song played on my radio. It’s so crazy that was 20 years ago!:

Melancholic

As I sat in my wheelchair this morning and tried to wake up. I opened my YouTube friend and saw this song and shared it on Facebook. I can’t share the exact video here but this is this song:

This song is one of my favorite U2 songs. It has a melancholic tinge to it that I find rather comforting and the words squeeze my heart.

Speaking of my heart being squeezed, I am so saddened that today I did NOT have Sean’s graduation party. I was looking so forward to it, especially, given my history of lack of graduation parties. With the uptick of virus cases, I feel certain that I was right to cancel it. I cannot handle the heat of it being outdoors and many of my family members are also vulnerable. I hope to reschedule it but I don’t know when that will be.
