Alpha and Omega

Although this picture is not the technical “Alpha,” I just loved how he wore a red gown for his kindergarten graduation. His preschool graduation had a blue gown and it was his second preschool. The first one was more social than academic so I like the Dearborn Early Learning Center so much better! I just found this button yesterday and even though it’s not throwback Thursday, I thought I’d share:

I have an 8 x 10 of this picture but it’s somewhere in my basement in a box. I wanted to show this picture because I just received his graduation ceremony pictures in the mail yesterday. My Mom hung this up yesterday in place of Sean’s Jackson Pollock cross that he made in school.

I had my Mom take a picture because she can get up closer than I can from my wheelchair.

So this isn’t the technical, “Omega” but it is for now. At least his grade and high school education is complete!

Extremely Grateful… but…

Yesterday, and about seven in the morning, I was somewhere in between sleep and wake when I heard my window air conditioner stop. Once I heard silence in my house, my eyeshot open! I groaned a little bit. But, 30 seconds later, The air conditioner beeped and restarted. Once I realized that my generator had kicked in, I smiled to myself and drifted off back to sleep.

So I am extremely grateful to have a generator especially when my power went out yesterday for a total of 10 hours. But the rain started. And it lasted all day long and I felt awful! In addition to that, the surge of my generator kicking in did something to my dryer. I’m still coming off all the rain from yesterday and feeling awful so I’m not sure what I’m going to do so I’m extremely grateful, but…

A Double High-Five OR A Wise Investment

Last summer, after the prolonged power outage that I had to live through with multiple hotel stays, trying to find one that was accessible, I got a generator. Really, to be honest, my Mom got me a generator. (I’m STILL paying her back) It runs at noon every Wednesday for five minutes just to make sure that it still runs.

Well, today, after my mom transferred me back to my wheelchair after washing my hair, the power flickered and then it came back on. That’s how the generator works, it will take 30 seconds for the generator to kick in.

My Mom and I looked at each other and once the power came back on, we both smiled and gave each other double high-fives, two times as we laughed.

So, my subdivision does NOT have power and I just received an email saying it is supposed to be on at 7:30 tonight. Before I received that email, my Mom talked to one of my brothers and my Mom told him about our power situation. He laughed and told her that it was, “A wise investment!”

He told her that it is 94° outside right now. I’m so grateful that I don’t have to go anywhere until the power comes back on at 7:30 tonight, IF it comes back on. It definitely warranted double high-fives!!!

How Did I NOT know this?!

The night before last I could not fall asleep and I scrolled through my YouTube feed and at about 1:15 in the morning, I saw this one! How did I not know this?!

As I listen to it, I was reminded of how much I absolutely love Bono!!!

I’m not really digging this way of distributing music and I miss CDs but I also don’t own a Kindle and prefer paper books.

Kind of Over it!

Today, the three act play to dry my hair was really long! It’s taking longer and longer to get my hair dry but having wet hair it’s not an option for me with all of my temperature sensitivities. I haven’t had a haircut since February because I had to cancel my appointment at the beginning of the pandemic. So in the five months that I’ve been sheltering in place with my Mom and the sixt ones since I have cut my hair this is what it looks like:

And here’s how my hair looked after it took FOREVER to fully blow dry it:

I kind of wish I was wearing a lighter shirt today to show the waves in my hair better but it has been 12 years since I have I had any hair on my back and to be honest, I don’t like it very much and I’m kind of over it.

#MyGirlL = “A Sweetheart”

Leia had an appointment with the vet yesterday. It was to restart a administration of a vaccine. When she was sick, she Had a fever so she could not get the second dose. We had to start and then doses over yesterday. She gets the second dose a little bit after she goes for The ultrasound on her mass on her stomach that the vet found at the previous appointment.

A receptionist called us to get my credit card information when she was on the way home. My Mom asked if she saw Leia when she was there. The receptionist laughed and said that she did and that she is, “Just a sweetheart!” I think so too but I think that’s because I think she is but she’s ours; it was nice to hear that from people who see dogs all the time!

The Lost Husband

I added my Mom to my Netflix account and I will say that the movies she chooses are usually hit or miss. The other day, she wanted to watch this one on my TV in the living room so I went with it.

I kind of really dug it! We watched in a number of times since then but I have design and that the farmers market is my favorite scene!

I also dug in this scene and downloaded this song on Apple Music:

I’m cheesy but, I am okay with that! You guys should check this movie out. It’s on Netflix.
