I got a YouTube alert for this song and absolutely loved it! I really love the singer and I haven’t heard anything from her in a while. Her song from the summer of 2013 is my “walking song” but I think this one can be a close second.

I started watching The Good Doctor 

at the recommendation of someone in my MS Friends group. I really dig it!  I am able to catch up on a lot of TV shows and find that I prefer shows that make me think. It’s good for my brain. I think it was the second or third episode that this song played at the closing and I really dig it.

ALMOST Forgotten Tune #7

I came across this tune again because of my run-in with fame on Good Morning Football  on Friday.   I had to watch both broadcasts because I wanted to  record  the broadcast when Kyle referenced me as he made the Third Eye Blind reference. I always heard the “London” song when they talked of football games in London and so I tweeted him and I am that “someone on Twitter” and he tweeted me back after he did it.

Washing my dishes was delayed as I watched the two broadcasts so I pulled up Third Eye Blind on the YouTube app and played it as I washed my dishes. It automatically played more Third Eye Blind songs and I heard this one.

I programmed it this song in my CD player to repeat as I fell asleep. For my first few nights at school, I played it really softly  during the day because I didn’t want to bother people on the other side of my wall.  😂😂😂   I’m not sure that I’ve heard this song since my days at WMU.

ALMOST Forgotten Tune #6

Arcade Fire was the musical guest on Ellen today. It was apparent that she really dug them and I was immediately reminded of Mr. Wright  from about 10 years ago at CCA! He introduced me to this song so many years ago when I still was teaching English. I really dug it then and then it was a part of the Where the Wild Things Are movie that came out when Sean was young.  I remember that we did not go to the movies to see it and I didn’t really care for it so much  when we saw it on TV but I loved this song! I pretty much forgot about it until I heard/saw Arcade Fire today.

My new weekday morning routine is to turn on Good Morning Football on the NFL Network and slowly begin cleaning my kitchen.   I roll into my kitchen and begin doing the dishes during the commercials.   I can take my time because I am all by myself. Depending on how I feel, it may take the entire 2 broadcasts of GMFB but it gets done! As I do my dishes, I  constantly hear this commercial and absolutely love it!  I searched it on YouTube and I only found the replay of the commercial, not the entire song. But, here it is, of course!:

I was doing leg lifts at ATI today and as Brad was working on me, this song came on the radio. I  told him this was the first song to play when I test drove my first car. It was my first “big girl” car that I had my name all alone on the lease.  It was a silver Malibu and I think it may have been a 2006?

I leased that car from my Dad’s salesman  who my Dad had been buying cars from the last 20 years. He had it all gassed up and ready for me to test drive. It was at Bill Wink Chevrolet (it’s not open anymore) and it was right by my parents’ house.

It had light grey interior and a sunroof.  I think my mom had dropped me off at the dealership and I was driving the car back to her house to get Sean. Bob told me to keep it overnight.   It was comfortable getting into the car and i situated my mirrors and the seat (it was all automatic),  and I was so excited!!! I put the key in the ignition and started the car and this was the first song I heard:

I started the car at the exact moment where there was  pause for a moment and then, “You’re Unbelievable!”   It was that exact moment when I knew that this car had to be mine. It was destiny!

I think I signed all the papers the next day after work. After I had all the papers signed and it was mine, I got back into the car and started it. A James Blunt song was playing so even though my car was a girl (because the gas tank was on the passenger’s side),  I named her “James.”   I hadn’t thought about this car in a very long time and this song made me think of the day I test drove it and it made me smile!

ALMOST Forgotten Tune #5

So, this ALMOST forgotten tune is REALLY personal!  Last Sunday, I watched , Fame, (the 2009 version).  It was a free movie OnDemand.  I remembered liking the first one and this one wasn’t so bad even though no student yelled in the stairwell that, “This school sucks!” when they didn’t make it into the school.

It was about the middle of the movie when this girl who was struggling with the music she wants to play and being forced to play classical piano by her parents begins playing the piano in an ALMOST empty auditorium.   I recognized the beginning bars and knew the words that she was going to start to sing so naturally, because I was home alone, I had to sing along with her! The song sounded vaguely familiar and then it all came rushing back to me!

I SANG this song  in high school!  It was in the review that we did my Senior year! I  still wasn’t positive that I sang it so I asked my cousinT, Shannon, if I did or not. I was staying with her at that time because my mom was helping her mom recover from  double knee replacements.   My dad worked nights so leaving a 17-year-old at home alone was not an option.   Probably not!

My cousin and I shared a room and she helped paint chairs for that show. She confirmed my inkling of a  memory. So, now after I remembered singing this, it’s been a long time since I sang!  My pipes are not what they used to be so I downloaded the song on Apple Music and attempt to sing it often!   I didn’t  even sound as good as this girl when my pipes were in their prime but, I still try!

ALMOST Forgotten Tune #4

I was reminded of The Blair Witch Project not too long ago and this is the second day in a row that I am watching Hocus Pocus so I am feeling pretty nostalgic! This song came to mind  and I was reminded of driving the blue, two-door Cavalier (my friend name to it “Blue Devil”  and we called it, “Blue Dev” for  short) This is definitely a favorite tune!   I’m sure I have  mentioned this song before.   I borrowed the CD from Dominic Sinatra.

I am SO old but I don’t even care!  I remember when the song was the epitome of cool!
