Continued my binge and I’m really happy that Andy and Erin got together! I watched it until I saw the outcome of that! I don’t like Cathy but I thought I would dislike her more! It’s good that Jim is an upstanding man! I love this show and I’m almost finished…
Category: A Bit Of Randomness
This category is full of randomness that really doesn’t fit nicely into any of the categories having to do with my road to walking.
Confession
Last week, just after my brother made the eandom Shirley Temple reference, my Mom was talking to him on the phone and I was seated in the kitchen taking my vitamins and overhearing their conversation. She put him on speaker and unbeknownst to him, he confessed. Immediately when he said this, I started to laugh and my Mom had no idea what he was talking about.
He said something extremely mundane but it was completely an inside joke and something only me and my two immediate older brothers would understand. He was forced to explain this comment to my Mom through my laughter! I’ve been thinking about writing this post for a while and it makes me laugh every time I think about it!
As I have been thinking about writing this post, this song popped into my head, completely unrelated, but my brother DID just confess:
My brother said, “Not I, said the duck!” I responded by laughing uncontrollably and my Mom had no idea what we were talking about.
Here is what he was talking about:
When I was a child, I think it was in a cartoon about a Mother Hen and her wanting assistance in the kitchen. i’m pretty sure there were three animals there, a cat, a duck, and a pig. Each one of the animals took a turn to say, “Not I.” My two older brothers would say the lines and one would be the duck and the other would be the cat and therefore would only leave, “Not I, said the pig!”
I continued to laugh as my brother explained this role assignment to my Mom. He told my Mom that the only line left for me to say was, “Not I, said the pig!” My Mom was completely aghast and she looked at me as I laughed and told me that I should never have said it. That is where Dave stated his confession:He told my Mom that if I didn’t say it, they would have beat me up!
The shocked look on her face continued as my laughter did! They would definitely have beat me up if I didn’t say it and they beat me up for so many other things throughout my childhood that I have lost count! But, it was nice to hear him confess that to my Mom. It’s better late than never and I don’t mind that it took about 33 years to take place but at least it took place!!!
My The Office Binge Day 37
I just finished season eight and started season nine. I’m interested to see what happens with Jim and Pam before the show ends.
Oh Yeah…
I did not wake up today until about 10:45. My Mom got me out of bed and after I washed my hands, I sat in front of my TV to watch the news. I could not find my comfortable spot at all. I adjusted multiple parts of my wheelchair but I could NOT find my comfortable spot. I was miserable.
In that moment when I realized that I could NOT get comfortable, I was reminded that I have MS. Oh yeah… This sh#t hurts!!! I laid semi-reclined in my chair and tried to get my bearings. My Mom was talking to her friend from Las Vegas in my kitchen and they both were laughing.
It was almost like they were high school girls and that made me smile and think about when she and I laughed and my Dad corrected us by telling us , “Now girls!” and all three of us laughed together. I liked hearing them laugh but I couldn’t join in because today is it a bad MS day. Oh yeah… this hurts!
Avatar
Sean received his multiple disc blu-ray of the show, Avatar in the mail today:
He started his, “Super Binge” upstairs on the front room TV. I forewent my Office binge to allow him to watch the show. I remember that show when he was young and part of me remembers watching this with him. I think we saw some of it in our second apartment. There were parts of episodes we watched today that I remember seeing years ago. We are about to finish disc one but we had to stop to eat dinner. Our schedule is so completely off now!
My The Office Binge Day 38
I got to the Halloween episode of season nine and I love that the Trebles were there from Cornell! I had no problem jammin’ to these songs!:
And then Stephen Colbert was there?! 😍😍😍
My The Office Binge Day 39
I saw the last Christmas party episode today! How ‘bout, I am really happy that Toby and Nellie got together!
A ‘Beautiful Mind’ For Sure!!!
I woke up early this morning. Everybody woke up because the dog had to go out. I haven’t been up that early since Sean still went to school. But I received a tweet notification that was just wonderful! I read tweeted it with the comments, “What a, ‘Beautiful Mind’ 😍😍😍!!! I agree with Kyle that how did we not know this and he is been in the league for a decade?!
I love that we know it now! What a ’Beautiful Mind’ for sure!!! 😍😍😍
My The Office Binge Day 40
I was only able to watch one and a half episodes yesterday with the puppy arriving but I was able to watch the lice episode! The episode where CeCe had lice and then the office got lice. I remember that I got lice my first year teaching. Actually, it was just an egg but I too did the mayonnaise regiment to get rid of it! I smelled like a potato salad for days! And then. Pam and Meredith went to the karaoke bar for a beer and they sang this jam!:
Persistence
Sean talked with my brother Jimmy the day we got Leia and he was laughing and told him that, “18 years of asking finally got me a dog!” We laughed about that today and he said that when he was 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10 – The answer was no. Not even 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15. He didn’t get one at 16 or 17 but now, at 18, he’s got one! He attributes that fact to his persistence in wanting a dog and constantly asking me.
Now that we have a dog, the dog smell is taking some getting used to for me and today, it’s wet dog smell. But now, with a dog, there’s new development. That development has been that we keep our front door open so she can watch the occasional car drive-by, a person walk their dog, or birds fly by. Right now, with her sitting in front of the door. I snapped this picture of her just and one earlier because I guess that’s my thing now.
I guess it’s alright because it isn’t too bad weatherwise. I have since heard her sounds now. She gave a little whimper as a woman walked her dog past our door and yesterday, my Mom and I were watching a movie and there was a dog barking and then, she HAD to assert her dominance because this is her house and she barked back at it. I never thought I would stay it was pretty cute but it WAS pretty cute!
