Persistence

Sean talked with my brother Jimmy the day we got Leia and he was laughing and told him that, “18 years of asking finally got me a dog!” We laughed about that today and he said that when he was 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10 – The answer was no. Not even 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15. He didn’t get one at 16 or 17 but now, at 18, he’s got one! He attributes that fact to his persistence in wanting a dog and constantly asking me.

Now that we have a dog, the dog smell is taking some getting used to for me and today, it’s wet dog smell. But now, with a dog, there’s new development. That development has been that we keep our front door open so she can watch the occasional car drive-by, a person walk their dog, or birds fly by. Right now, with her sitting in front of the door. I snapped this picture of her just and one earlier because I guess that’s my thing now.

I guess it’s alright because it isn’t too bad weatherwise. I have since heard her sounds now. She gave a little whimper as a woman walked her dog past our door and yesterday, my Mom and I were watching a movie and there was a dog barking and then, she HAD to assert her dominance because this is her house and she barked back at it. I never thought I would stay it was pretty cute but it WAS pretty cute!
