Sean stopped by today after he got out of work and he put the second air conditioner in his bedroom because it is crazy hot!!! He sat and talked with us after the air conditioner was in and he told me, “I heard a ‘mom song’ today and 98.7. He told me that it was this song we heard all of the time in the car. He told me that 98.7 plays a lot of ‘mom music.’
I have never owned this song on a CD but we DID hear it a lot on the radio when we drove somewhere:
I just received a message from the woman who cuts my hair and waxes my eyebrows. There was a change of plan. She understandably had to cancel. I get a second to breathe now. I can relax a little bit until my eye doctor appointment tomorrow.
The scab on my left foot came off yesterday when my Mom took my socks off to wash my feet. My leg hurt all day and when I found out the reason why, I was reminded of reading the third The Hunger Games book. I remember at the very end of the book, it was described that Katniss’s wounds were tended to and it hurt Because the new skin was so tender. I remember cringing when I read that because EVERYONE can remember how that feels! That’s how my left heel feels right now. My Mom told me this morning that it looks like the right scab may peel off tonight!
What am I, eight years old?!
My Mom just left to pick up the van I rented to get my haircut today. Isn’t it crazy that I would pick a day that so extremely warm to do this but I guess ‘it hurts to be beautiful’ as my Mom would say when I was a kid?! When she comes back, it’s go time and I’m a little bit nervous.
Doubleheader this month because I have an eye appointment tomorrow. Wish me luck! And I have a neurology appointment On the 27th of this month.
I knew that I would finish my Sweet mandarin Chapstick yesterday so I was excited to try my strawberry sorbet one this morning. I was going to have a new Chapstick on Saturday! This song played in my head as I thought about my family gatherings at Willow Metro Park when I was young and my Abuela was alive.
As for the Chapstick, hm. I don’t think that I love it but I think that’s because it tastes a little waxy like the watermelon one I had. Maybe I will just go back to my cucumber mint Chapstick for the summer. I am not sure. I should finish my other tubes before they get old!
So, we went to the dermatologist on Monday regarding my feet. I have been on medication for ringworm since April. I have known for a long time that my body takes an extremely long time to heal.
Tuesday, we made an appointment with the wound clinic that we were referred to. We are going there on July 11th. My Mom has been taking excellent care of my feet and it has been holy Thursday since Easter (she washes them twice daily). It’s definitely taking its toll on both of us!
My Mom was tending my feet and we called the wound clinic and made an appointment. The confirmation I got when we made the appointment was that it is with the infectious disease clinic.
It is extremely startling to see that I am going to the the doctor called infectious disease! I felt like a leper! What is this, 1800 and I have the Spanish flu, or I felt like a muddy soldier in a fox hole in Vietnam. I absolutely despise doing any Internet researching but I had to know how I got a staph infection!
I found two very important pieces of information that is the reason I have a staff infection! I only have two doses of medication in me now so my feet still hurt a whole lot but here are my findings and I wanted to share it here to let you all know that I am not dirty or unsanitary. These are the reasons I have a staph infection:
Well, I eat pretty cleanly but now, I’m not eating but drinking my nutrition so that could be some thing. My ringworm turned into pressure sores so this next one made sense as well:
We both are still tired and there is more things to say but I have to stop now because I am tired so I just need to rest now.
It was not too long ago when Sean commenting on the fact that I have a, “Bag of Chapstick.” He made fun of me and said that I am so bougie about some things but I have my Chapstick it is a Ziploc bag!
I explained to him that when you get that low on the Chapstick the little plunger will fall out so that’s why I put it in a bag until I finish it. He told me that he did not know that because he has never finished a tube of Chapstick and he usually loses it first.
Well now, hold up just a minute! I may be a little ghetto with my Ziploc bag of Chapstick but let me just clarify that right now it is not one, but two bags of Chapstick!!!:
So, I called my shot a while ago when I threw out the watermelon Chapstick and retired the pomegranate Chapstick for the season so it is a two-man race. I said that strawberry was going to win and I got a little bit nervous for a second but I just want to say that this happened Saturday night for strawberr, phew!!!:
Tomorrow is the final day of our three day van excursion! I am beyond exhausted! I was able to order us dinner tonight from Sabina ’s so I had to buy beetsoup for my sister-in-law and me to try! Today, I am spent!!!
So, today started my first adventure with my three day van rental. Today, it was an incomplete pass! Here’s what happened, I have procured the prescription for new compression socks that are much needed. My dental hygienist quit unexpectedly and the office was figuring out how they were going to squeeze both me and my Mom in at the same time like they have been doing for years. Like me and Sean used to. So it was a bunch of finagling but I figured it out like this and I laid out a game plan for my Mom:
Monday: compression sack fitting
Tuesday: teeth cleaning
Wednesday: Haircut and wax
So here’s what happened, Brian who we called before hand to make sure we had the correct directions sent us to the wrong place so we were out in Canton and my Mom was upset! I, however, what is unfazed. It was okay.
We passed a Jet‘s Pizza and we ordered a pie and cinnamon sticks. We ate in the car. I told my Mom that it was okay and tomorrow will just have a doubleheader. Well go get fitted for my socks before we go for our teeth cleaning. The dentist office was able to schedule us on Tuesday when we were supposed to go on Monday but they were able to get us in Tuesday. What can I say?!, it pays to have the same dentist for over 50 years for my Mom and over 35 years for me.
i’m not sure where all of these sports analogies are coming from but I did used to play double headers in high school when I was a catcher for the softball team. I’m a little nervous for tomorrow but it will get done. I’m just having a difficult time right now because I am in somewhat of a sugar coma/Carb overload right now… just call me Olaf!!!
I never got into the l craze because Sean is a boy but I feel that way about cinnamon sticks! They remind me of Elephant ears which are my favorite but difficult to eat as an adult but not when you’re a kid and don’t care that you get sugar all over your face!

I was just thinking about elephants! I know that I have completed two elephant puzzles and I share videos and pictures of them all the time! I even tried to get Sean to love a stuffed elephant when he was a baby but he wanted no part of any comfort object!
