Labor?

Bryan dropped the ball yesterday and did not call us to order my phone after my Apple ID was unlocked. It’s a holiday today so I guess I will just have to wait another day. When I was a child in grade and high school, I always started school BEFORE Labor Day as did Sean because we both went to Catholic schools. Existence is a lot more difficult now that I am no longer in the workforce but I could ignore the pain when I was working. Now, my MS has taken center stage…

The FI-AS-CO Continues!!!

I woke up this morning to pain in my feet and I set up in my bed by adjusting it and I grabbed my phone off of the charging pad to see what time it was. Once I took it off of the pad, and remained black!!!

I had no idea what time it was but I knew that my feet were hurting. I took my pill with my water and took an Atkins snack because the Lorna Doones have proved to be too many carbs for me!

We spent the morning on the phone! It is a complete mess and I can’t remember my Apple ID password?! That’s because I had to change it six days ago when I got my new phone but now that it is dead, I can’t access it! It’s absolutely horrible!

So, I am using my moms phone as she is resting because she spent all morning trying to figure it out because I was so upset that I can’t even speak. That’s a new thing happening now and it kind of stinks!!!

Time to Pillage

It’s Saturday. I drank both of my shakes for my breakfast and lunch and so now it’s time to Pillage!!!:

This comic reminds me of the comics I would read when I was a kid. My Dad would discard the comics and the sale papers every week and I would read the comics on Sunday and I would go shopping with the sale papers and then put the papers in the recycle bin at the base of the stairs in the basement when I was finished.

The SAME Damn Phone?!!!!

So, my Mom had to take both of my phones back to the Verizon store today. With my old phone, I could text and get on the Internet. My new phone had all of my updated contacts. I had her snap this picture today before she took the old phone in with the new phone. With all of the two day fiasco to get it activated, it’s the SAME damn phone!:

The one on the left is my new phone and the one on the right, which I was not even finished paying for, is on the left. The only way I can tell them apart is because I have Super Bowl T-shirt stickers from the Super Bowl this past year. Matty won!!! The one on the left is a 12 and the one on the right is an 11 that I was not finished paying for! I had to pay it off before I got the new one!!! Grrr!!!

FI-AS-CO!!!

Absolute insanity!!! Last month, my Mom’s phone got messed up and she needed a new phone. Sharing a phone while her phone came was a little bit trying! I hooked her up with the new phone! I have no problem with that at all! I got her her cell phone back when Sean was born when she was his nanny because I needed to get a hold of her at all times. We’ve just kept it that way! No problem!

But, last week, my phone died. Given how important my phone is to me now with being chronically ill, I had to figure that out as well. I am on a fixed income and you can’t bleed a turnip! So, I ordered my phone on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday and my Mom who had rented a van to take my power chair to be refurbished, made the appointment to get the screen protector put on and to get the phone activated for later yesterday.

I She was with the manager for an hour and 15 minutes and they still could not get it. He could not load a Sim card into the phone! He tried three times before my Mom told him that she will come the next morning.

That’s what she did this morning so now I have a working phone! It was a two day fiasco for sure with some colorful people at the Verizon store as she waited this morning!!!

Thick.

I have my return appointment with the infectious disease clinic today. My feet are getting better but they are not done yet! My Mom went to pick up the van today and when she came back, she said that it is, “Thick” outside. That concerns me and of course she sang that song AGAIN!!!

I found out last night that this song was released in 1966. When my Mom was only 14! So OF COURSE I would NOT know it at all!!!

Exhausting OR #DirtyHairDontCare

This afternoon, my Mom tended to my left foot because last night she tended to my right foot because the bandage got a little bit loose. Sonya It’s coming on Friday to change them again. Today, as she was changing my bandage and washing my left foot. She told me, regarding my feet, that all of this is exhausting and I completely agreed with her!!!

But, there is another thing going on as well! This year has finally become a problem. When I worked, I washed my hair every day with the exception of the week that we had to stay in a hotel because our power was out for like eight days. It was then when I realized how I’ll-accommodating places are! We had to change hotels on a Wednesday or some thing and so I was unable to wash my hair Thursday morning. I remember sitting in the teachers lounge eating lunch and Mr. Cooper asked me how it is going without power. I looked at him and pointed to my head and said, “This hair, is NOT clean!” I remember that he laughed but it really bothered me because I ALWAYS have a clean scalp!

But now, I no longer work and I am pretty much homebound. 21 years of MS has been difficult but now I have to make concessions. It is so exhausting just existing. With that being said, this is how it is now:

I have figured it out that I wash my hair ONLY when I am leaving the house! I NEVER thought that washing my hair would be as difficult as it is and I NEVER thought I would be okay with NOT washing it! Sonya is coming on Friday so I will wash my hair Thursday night. For now, it’s #DirtyHairDontCare but I secretly care but can do nothing about it because MS is just awful!!!

My “Butt Sticker”

I knew that 21 of having MS would be difficult and it definitely has been a challenge thus far! I feel that Some of. my abilities are rapidly diminishing. One good thing about the government taking care of me in terms of medical supplies is that they’re really good at it! I took this picture last week as my Mom was trying to find a new place to put all the boxes we have been receiving from the medical supply place:

I am writing about this today because we received another box right now. The package we received today will be a change of dressing on my feet for Friday. My nurse, Sonya, is coming on Friday to change my dressings. My Mom told me that she will wait to change the dressings until after she sees Sonya do it so she will keep my bandages bulky when she changes them on Wednesday.

My Mom let me know that I need to change my “Butt sticker” Today and I started laughing hilariously! Let me explain:

The first thing Sonya did when she got to my house was to check my tailbone for signs of pressure. I did not have any which she said was good. When we went to the infectious disease clinic, Jen gave u these:

So, Jen gave us a whole bunch of these but I figured out that they are available on Amazon so I have to add one more monthly expense for my preventative health care. I know that these pressure sores on my feet hurt so terribly so I will definitely wear this, “Butt sticker” if it can prevent a sore like on my feet on my tailbone I will gladly pay for that added expense!!!
