Well, it’s taken nine days but my favorite phase is finally completed. I was completely OK with that because I put my tree up too early anyway! I also ordered my Hallmark ornaments for this year today. They should be here by Friday. Friday is Sean’s Ring Day.
This song showed up in my YouTube feed and it coincided nicely with my CCA + Barwis memories. I shared it on Facebook last night so not to forget the song:
Remind me of still driving, still working, and still going to Barwis three times a week! All things I am mourn pretty much daily because of MS.
So, I guess because it takes me a while to wake up and get engaged with GMFB now that it’s winter, I tweeted Kay and Peter because The table’s segment regarding the power rankings with Dan Hanzus and they described teams using Canadian rock bands. It really made me laugh! They all are comparable to my age so I really get their musical references. Kay was first:
But then came Peter:
Nate rounded it off and I thought he would have a better showing with being Canadian and all but this song choice was solid:
I’m not sure why I didn’t tweet Kyle because his answers are always great! But…
This song was popular when I taught reading and worked out at Barwis Methods. A student of mine Suggested this movie to me. I was able to watch it a couple weeks after she suggested it brings back TONS of memories!
I saw this song/video this morning in my YouTube feed and I didn’t want to forget it. I shared it on Facebook. This song reminds me of when I still taught English and I got four copies of the Twilit book series for my class for Christmas. It was when I got this present for my classroom that I actually read the books. Seeing this video and hearing this song brought back all of those fond memories!
Yesterday, my Mom saw the beginning of a movie on Netflix. She stopped watching it and came to my house he told me that she wanted to watch it with me. There have been times before when my Mom will watch the stupidest movies and Netflix. I constantly warn her about that but she always ends up watching them. I figured that I would give this one a try. Rob Lowe was in it and more importantly, it had ELEPHANTS in it! I love elephants!
I finished watching it today after GMFB was finished and I really dug the elephants! I recently previewed the hallmark ornament selection available this year and they had an elephant. I’ve been debating whether to get it or not this year as commemoration of the random movie my Mom suggested.
As the credits were rolling, I watched the preview they offered on Netflix. The preview kind of made me laugh so then I when down, “The rabbit hole” AGAIN! I started watching that movie. I was able to watch half of it before my Mom came over to complete our morning routine.
I just finished watching it. Because my Hocus Pocus watching days are over because Halloween has passed, it is now Hallmark Christmas movie watching time! I didn’t wait for another preview after I watch the second movie so I just turned on Hallmark movies.
A while ago, on GMFB, they showed a clip of Kay from even longer ago and she had dark hair. She said, “#DarkHairDon’tCare” and I tweeted her about us being the same person because she is also left-handed and 5 feet tall. I let her know that I also have dark hair.
But today, somehow, I can’t seem to get warm. I am bundled up in a hooded sweatshirt and I have one of Sean’s winter hats on. During our morning routine, I couldn’t handle taking my hat off to wash my hair so I told my Mom, “#DirtyHairDon’tCare ” like Kay did a while ago.
So, all of my Facebook friends know that I have watched Hocus Pocus 31 times up to this point. It’s my favorite Halloween movie. I did not join Facebook until I stopped working in July 2017. I didn’t start watching Hocus Pocus 1million times until last year. I watched it 11 times. I purchased it on October 1st on Xfinity. I wanted to get my money’s worth! I have watched it so many times that it has only cost me $.64 each time I watch it. And, I own it for next year too! I went with Sean and my Mom to see it at the IMAX and The Henry Ford:
A different Facebook friend told me about that one and it was great!
Another friend tagged me in this post on October 4;
And the tags from my Facebook friends have not stopped! And a lot of them are really cool! I love every single one of them! I will share some here:
My YouTube feed was filled with random, interesting facts about Hocus Pocus
I shared those on my Facebook timeline often. For example:
Then, there are the videos also. I tried to share them here but I couldn’t. The first one I received was from a cousin in Florida:
It was Hocus Pocus through the lens of Snapchat filters:
And then two more of my cousins shared this song which made me laugh hysterically!
I was tagged in this post today:
Also, my niece sent me this shirt today:
I received it when I was already dressed for the day and I currently am bundled up in my sweatshirt with my hood tied around my face pretty tightly. In fact, that’s the reason I haven’t watched the movie today. I feel awful! It has been raining for days, my body hurts, and my knee is killing me on top of everything!
I will definitely rock that shirt next October often because:
But now, I have to say “bye-bye” just like Winnifred in her song.
Because I am not feeling well, I seem to be falling in and out of sleep often today. I will just play my favorite October song that I don’t think I have posted here this year yet:
OK, so today marks the 24th time I have watched Hocus Poocus this October. That’s two dozen times! I post the amount of times I’ve watched it every day on Facebook. Many of my Facebook friends think that I’m nuts but I’m OK with that. I like it a lot! It reminds me of being young and able-bodied. My YouTube feed is flooded with tons of videos regarding that movie! I have shared like 10 different videos on Facebook so far. I’m going to see the movie at the IMAX theater by my house on Friday and I am super excited!
But, I know that part of the reason that I am watching the movie so much is that I purchased it on Xfinity on October 1st. I really wanted to watch the movie because I figured it would be my tradition because I watched it 11 times last October. I didn’t purchase the movie but it was available OnDemand. Because it was not available, I just had to purchase it so I splurged on the $19.99 it cost me.
I figured out that since I have watched the movie 24 times so far that it has only cost me $.83 each time I watch it. I had to use the calculator on my phone to figure it out because I am NOT a math person.
It will only cost me LESS each time I watch it until Halloween!
So, recently, it was brought to my attention that I have watched the movie, Hocus Pocus 26 times in the past two years. It is my Halloween movie. I remember a former colleague told me that she watched it often and I just started doing it a couple years ago. I watched it 11 times last year and so far, I have watched it 15 times this October.
I was never really into Halloween until I had Sean. Given that his birthday is two days after Halloween, he has had many Halloween themed birthday parties growing up. I asked my Mom to bring up my Halloween bins from the basement the other day. She brought one up but it was only filled with Sean’s costumes growing up that my friend Ami had made him. We smiled at the box and reminisced about the good times trick-or-treating when he was young.
She closed it back up and brought my second Halloween bin upstairs. In that bin is all of my Halloween PartyLite candle holders. I had almost forgotten all of my Halloween accessories and candleholders until she opened the box and I smelled the smell of the Halloween candles. I have a warmer that I’ve had for over a decade. Just today, we lit the candle and I asked Sean if it smelled like Halloween when he left to cut the grass. Later, I asked him again before he left to go watch football with his friends and he told me that it did.
It smelled like Halloween but my Mom blew out the candle when she left so the candle was not on when I am by myself. It went from smelling like Halloween to smelling like a birthday party but at least my house will burn down!
Sean has always liked pumpkins and I think that is one thing that encouraged me to get Halloween candleholders and decorations. My Mom recently brought upstairs an old photo album of mine and this was the first time Sean went to a cider mill:
It has probably been seven or eight years since I’ve put out all of my Halloween decorations but the smell of these candles completely took me back immediately! I didn’t watch Hocus Pocusyesterday because I wasn’t feeling well. Hearing that Michigan wom didn’t really make me feel much better. Given that the Lions don’t play until Monday night, I’m still feeling a little wonky. My Mom left to pick up some Chinese food for me so I think when I eat my food, I will have to watch Hocus Pocusfor the 27th time.
It was NOT a good morning for me today! I was extremely groggy as I watched GMFB.
Peter talked about Teddy Bridgewater and the shirt he wore on Sunday at the press conference after the Saints win. I noticed that shirt on Sunday when he gave his press conference. Peter said it had been 15 years since he had worn that shirt. I thought about it and I think it was more like 25 or 27 years since I wore the same shirt because I think I wore when I was like 10 or 12. I’m close to his age. I’m close to all of their ages except for Kay, she’s younger than me!
I was groggy through parts of the show but I eventually woke up so I watched the beginning of the show as the second broadcast of it began at 10:00 a.m. I swear that I can’t Miss a second of that show because Kyle Brant is absolutely hilarious! In the beginning of the show, the breakfast table talked about the dominating win the Steelers has over the Bengals last night. Mason Rudolph was the quarterback because Ben Rothlisberger is out for the year. They showed a picture of Mason Rudolph at the press conference after the win and the table was silent for a moment:
Peter said something about Mason Rudolph looking like Taylor Lautner. Kyle always says hilarious things off the cuff! He asked Peter who is that he looks like and he said Taylor Lautner and Kyle said that he is #TeamEdward anyway. 😂😂😂 Even though I was the rebroadcast, I tweeted him anyway:
Once I had seen everything, I stopped watching and posted my October faves in the Tunes tab on my blog.
Today as my Mom and I completed our morning routine to get me ready for the day, I told her that I didn’t feel very well. I thought of a book that I read to Sean a lot when he was very young. Dr. Suess’s My Many Colored Days:
I told her that I felt like the purple dragon. It is “A purple day” that I am trying to shake off.
Once I was ready for the day, I fell in and out of sleep as I watched TV still not able to shake the purple day feeling off. Then, I realized it’s October 1st and now starts, “Blogtober” which means for the month of October, a blogger needs to post every day on their blog. I Sara doing this probably in September but I want to keep it going!
Also, because it is October 1st. It’s time to watch Hocus Pocus!I bought it today and I probably will watch it 1 million times until Halloween! It’s basically tradition!
